The Spring Ag Tour will depart from the Marriott Hotel via charter buses. The first stop will be the Kern Water Bank – a 32 square mile property that can store 1.5 million acre-feet of water underground – almost three times the storage capacity of nearby Lake Isabella. Water is stored in the KWB during wet years and recovered during dry years for agricul-tural, municipal, and industrial uses. Following the stop at KWB, the buses will head for Delano and the Wonderful Halo Facility. Wonderful will be hosting lunch on site which will be followed by a facility tour. Wonderful Citrus is the largest integrated grower, packer, and shipper of fresh citrus in the US. With a staff of approximately 1,500 during peak season, nine packing facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, they supply fresh citrus to their customers year-round. Following lunch, the buses will depart for Grimmway Farms for a tour of their baby carrot processing facility. What started as a produce stand opened by the Grimm brothers, the Grimmway company is now a global produce leader and the world’s largest producer of carrots. Grimmway grows 100% of its organic and conventional crops in the USA and brands include Cal-Organic Farms and Bunny-Luv.
