The California Chapter provides an important link for professionals through an affiliate membership category – Friends of the California Chapter. Men and women with an interest in agriculture, and who do not otherwise qualify for membership in the ASFMRA as a rural appraiser, farm manager or agricultural consultant, are encouraged to join for just $150 per year.
Accountants, Association Executives, Attorneys, Chemical Dealers, Chemical Producers and Operators, Commodities Dealers, Escrow Officers, Estate Planners, Farm Advisors, Farmers and Ranchers, Irrigation Suppliers, Journalists, Lenders, Legislative Aides, Legislators, Pest Control Advisors, Real Estate Brokers, Teachers, Title Officers, and the list goes on!
Agriculture is the glue that holds the California economy together. Many jobs – and the state’s future – depend on a healthy agricultural industry. It goes far beyond the grower, handler, and marketer of California crops. The industry is of great importance to lenders, realtors, accountants, attorneys, and estate planners, just to name a few. With so much in common, the need to network and exchange information in support of our agricultural community grows every day. Together, we can help shape public policy affecting California’s agricultural and natural resources. We can help foster a better public understanding and increased knowledge of agriculture and our related professional fields.
Friends of the Chapter enjoy all of the benefits offered to regular chapter members, with the exception of voting rights. Key to membership is the benefit of networking. As California’s premiere agribusiness organization, the California Chapter offers access to a targeted community of influential professionals.
As a Friend of the Chapter, you are included on the chapter email list, which ensures that you will receive all membership communications including correspondence, announcements and special mailings. You will receive the Chapter’s Trends® in Agricultural Land and Lease Values publication at no charge (a value of $30), which is released each year in conjunction with the Outlook Agribusiness Conference.
Friends of the Chapter enjoy discounted member rates on all chapter-sponsored courses and events. Member rates are often as much as $30-$50 below regular registration fees. Finally, Friends will benefit from an ongoing relationship with a strong networking organization focusing its efforts on the agricultural industry.
